Here is a brief presentation of each module:

Introduction to literary tourism (core module, 25 hours, in Italian) The 'Introduction to Literary Tourism' module (common to all students) is designed to give students a first comprehensive and multidisciplinary overview of this fascinating sector. It will provide a clear definition of literary tourism, highlighting the differences and similarities with other types of cultural and thematic tourism. It will illustrate examples of well-known literary destinations to illustrate how literature can influence tourism. It will make students aware of the importance of preserving and enhancing cultural and literary heritage and promoting sustainable tourism that respects local communities.This module is designed to provide students with a foundation for the subsequent modules, which are more specialised and/or related to the individual linguistic and cultural context. |

Literary tourism techniques (core module, 40 hours, in Italian) This module analyses the techniques of literary tourism through an approach that closely links theory and practice. After establishing some basic concepts of tourism techniques, the aspects of design, elaboration, production, dissemination, implementation, evaluation, management and development of literary tourism activities will be approached on the basis of successful case studies. For each activity, the method of design, implementation and management will be critically analysed, emphasising literary, tourism, communication and organisational skills. Specific attention will be given to 'networking', multidisciplinary, dynamic and creative work, in which the human and relational components are of particular value. |

(Portuguese or English) Language of tourism (specialised module, 45 hours, in the chosen foreign language) This module aims to provide students with a solid knowledge of their chosen foreign language, with particular emphasis on terminology and practical scenarios specific to the tourism industry. Advanced language skills in comprehension, oral and written expression in tourism contexts will be developed. Students will acquire the specialised vocabulary related to the tourism sector, covering aspects such as hospitality, hotel and restaurant management, tour organisation and leisure activities. Students will develop and practise translating tourism-related texts, adapting materials such as brochures, guides and websites, maintaining accuracy and consistency of content and ensuring effective and professional communication with with tourists who speak the selected foreign language. Students will take part in simulations and role-plays to practise language skills in real-life situations such as bookings, customer service, itinerary presentations and problem solving. |

(Portuguese or English) Language literature and tourism (specialised module, 45 hours, in the foreign language) The module is designed to enable students to explore the synergies between literature and tourism in the cultural fields of their chosen foreign language. Students will analyse literary texts and discover how they can influence and enrich the tourism experience. They will develop skills in analysing literary works in the foreign language, understanding the themes, historical and cultural contexts and the impact on the perception of tourist destinations. They will learn to design tourist itineraries based on literary works, highlighting the key locations mentioned in the texts and their links with local culture. Additionally, the module will emphasise the promotion and valorisation of the literary heritage of the countries where the chosen language is spoken, and will teach them to effectively explain to tourists the importance of literature in understanding local culture and identity. Students will also improve their intercultural communication skills, which are essential for presenting literary contents to an international audience in an engaging and informative way. |

Italian literature and tourism (common module, 45 hours, in Italian) The module (common to all students) examines the interactions between Italian literary works and the tourism sector, providing an in-depth understanding of how literature can enrich the tourism experience. Through an in-depth analysis of texts and the design of cultural itineraries, the course will prepare students to promote the Italian literary heritage in the context of tourism. The training objectives are similar to those already outlined for the modules on foreign literature and tourism. |
